The King-Devick Migraine Headache Early Detection (MiHED™) iPad application is a tool designed for use by individuals with a history of migraine headaches to potentially identify the prodromal phase of a migraine attack. Typically occurring between one to six hours prior to the onset of headache pain, this early warning may facilitate timely intervention.

Recent peer-reviewed research supports the notion that administering specific migraine treatments during the prodromal stage can be effective in mitigating or even preventing subsequent headache episodes.

The application guides users through the King-Devick Test, a measure of saccadic eye movements. This involves reading aloud randomly spaced single-digit numbers across three increasingly challenging screen patterns, demanding both speed and accuracy. The app employs advanced automated speech recognition technology to analyze test performance in real-time and compares results with previous test data when available.

Subscribers are permitted to conduct unlimited tests for a single individual. Please note that this application is compatible only with iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro devices—not compatible with iPhone or iPad Mini.

It is important to emphasize that MiHED should be used solely as a supplementary tool alongside professional medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment. It is not intended to serve as a diagnostic or therapeutic substitute.
